Description

Great Dane - Extra Large - Adult - Female - Dog - Sugar
Description
Sugar came to us from Arizona. She was fostered for us by a Dane enthusiast and rescue foster home in AZ pending her transport here. In fact the foster is the person who managed Sugar's rescue and contacted us about her in the first place. Sugar is blind but hears just fine. She is very sweet, loves affection and attention, tries hard to be good and please you, and is generally a nice dog. She is a full throttle dog, who boldly goes where most blind dogs might show caution. As far as she is concerned, she isn't missing a thing. She came to us lacking some basic manners. We are working on this with her and she is doing really well. Her desire to please and her intelligence make it easy for her to learn. She can get a bit overexcited when playing with other dogs, and sometimes things can get out of hand, but she isn't aggressive. It is simply a lack of social skills. But she is learning these skills and gets along well with all our other dogs. She is a very special girl who will return ten-fold, any love and kindness shown her. She will make a very special companion for the person smart enough to ignore her "handicaps" and see the extraordinary spirit inside. We will post additional photos of Sugar as time goes by, so check back often.
